What are the risks?
Any form of medical intervention carries risks. In osteopathic, acupuncture and sports therapy/remedial massage treatments this is minimal.
It is not unusual to experience some soreness post treatment - maybe a mild aching or slightly "bruised" feeling. This is normal and is due to the body now working in a different way. Treatment to your neck may result in a short-lived headache or a feeling of light-headedness. You may experience some redness or even bruising of the skin if deep tissue work has been done.
Serious side effects are very uncommon. In extremely rare cases manipulation of the neck has been associated with strokes.
Your treatment of choice will be designed to minimise these risks. Your practitioner will be happy to discuss with you any concerns you have.
If, following treatment, you have any concerns, please contact the Clinic.
