Combined Hip & Knee Pain - a case study
Mrs. B, a 69 year old lady, came to the Shefford Osteopathic Clinic suffering with left knee and hip pain. The pain had come on after she got out of a car some 2 weeks previously.
Examination revealed that Mrs. B had a decreased range on movement of her left hip (probably early osteoarthritis) resulting in a strain into her left knee. Three months previously she had had a right partial knee replacement and this had placed increased weight bearing to the left side.
There was an improvement in her symptoms after the initial osteopathic treatment and after 3 treatments Mrs. B reported that she felt much more comfortable.
Mrs. B had 4 further treatments at monthly intervals to improve her overall mobility to both her lower limbs and her low back.
